As a school project, three other students and I created a social app for young informal caregivers (for example a daughter who cares for her ill mother). We interviewed these people to find out what kind of problems they have and how an app could possibly help them. The outcome was a concept for a social app that would allow them to share their problems with other caregivers so they could get and give advice. We decided to design a mobile app, because that’s the device young people use the most.
They’re familiar with social apps like Instagram and Snapchat, so we designed our app in such a way that they’d feel comfortable using it, but we also wanted the users to feel safe, so we decided anonymity would be a focus of the app.
We started with creating wireframes, which we tested with possible users and created a hi-fi prototype based on that.
